Support @The Junction
Services Offered
We offer young people between 10 & 18 years old, who live in or around Colchester or Tendring, a safe, friendly and non-judgemental support service.
We can help if you are having problems coping with:
~ anger ~ feeling low ~ drugs ~alcohol ~ sleeping ~ friendships ~ bullying ~ relationships with others ~ home/ school/ college/ work life ~ stress ~ anxiety ~ looking after yourself ~ emotions & other stuff
Our aim is to help you find ways to improve and look after your emotional well-being.
How it Works
We receive a referral, we offer you an appointment, you decide to attend the appointment, we ask what you hope to get from our support, we offer you support, you decide to take up our offer, we meet for an agreed number of sessions then review things:
- "What's different or better?"
- "Do you need more/a different kind of support?"…
- "No"? Your work with us is complete. Your file is closed and stored safely.
How it is offered
1.1 sessions
An opportunity to speak openly, in a safe non judgemental environment. We can offer you a number of sessions with a support worker, where you can talk through difficulties and work together to find your own solutions.
Group sessions
We offer a range of groups for young people who have similar difficulties. Learn the new ways of coping with situations. Also having a little bit of fun along the way!
Aromatherapy
A form of massage using different oils. Many young people have said it helps them cope with anger and improves sleep.
Workshops
Project workers also offer occasional workshops on specific emotions or difficulties, working with a small group of young people who experience similar feelings or experiences. Like group work, no young person attends a workshop if they don't feel comfortable to do so.
Your project worker will discuss with you the best kind of support for your needs. You will not be made to do anything you don't want to do.
